Private day care facilities

18. What do private child day care facilities offer?

Integral to the spectrum

The spectrum of child day care facilities in Dresden is very diverse. Alongside the municipal facilities and those operated by independent welfare providers, there are in the meantime also 8 privately run child day care centres.

Individual offers

The offers made by the private facilities are more distinctive and to a certain extent more individual in concept. The children are generally looked after over a longer part of the day. In one case, it is even possible to arrange weekend or overnight care should the need arise.

The private facilities are granted an operating licence by the State Youth Welfare Office of Saxony on the basis of the Social Security Code, Chapter 8. The Free State of Saxony also pays out grants as contributions to operating costs. The parents conclude a care and supervision contract on a purely private basis, with individual stipulations regarding the services to be provided and the costs of the agreed care. It is not possible to apply for reduction of the payable parent contribution for care agreements with private day care facilities, as these facilities are generally not covered by the official demand planning for child day care in the City of Dresden.
