Old wood and bulky waste from private households can be handed in to recycling centers free of charge once every six months up to a total volume of 4 m³ or can be collected from your home for a fee.

Free pickup for Dresden Pass holders

Home collection subject to charge

Bulky waste up to a maximum volume of four cubic metres can be collected from your home for a fee of 28.35 euros .

Please fill out the following application completely. Clicking the "Submit data" button sends the application to Stadtreinigung Dresden GmbH as the commissioned waste disposal company. If you enter your email address, you will receive an order confirmation. You will be notified in writing by post of the collection date, instructions on how to prepare the bulky waste and the fee notice. Collection usually takes place within four weeks.

It is possible to have bulky waste collected from your apartment or basement. However, this is an additional service provided by the waste disposal company and is subject to a charge. This must be specified when registering. You can obtain information about this directly from the responsible waste disposal company, Stadtreinigung Dresden GmbH, on 0351-4455116.

Fast service

If you cannot wait for a regular appointment (within four weeks) and want to get rid of bulky waste as quickly as possible, you can use express collection .

The bulky waste will be collected within three working days of receipt of the order. The cost is 85.04 euros . Orders can only be placed online and a telephone number or email address must be provided in order to arrange an appointment.

Tips and advice on bulky waste collection

If you cannot make your appointment or no longer need it, cancel in good time or arrange a new appointment with the waste disposal company. You do not have to be present when the collection takes place. This is how you prepare your bulky waste:

on the day of collection until the time specified in the letter or the evening before
in front of the property of the pick-up address
maximum ten meters away from the street
unpacked, clearly visible and accident-proof
can be loaded by two people
Do not block sidewalks

If you have provided more bulky waste or other waste, such as residual waste or old electrical devices, these will not be taken away. Please clear these items away promptly.
Bulky waste can be collected from your apartment or basement. However, this is an additional service provided by the respective waste disposal company and is subject to a fee. This must be stated when registering.
Cash payments during bulky waste collection are not possible. You will receive a fee notice by post after the collection. If you have ordered transport from your apartment or basement, you will receive an additional invoice by post from the waste disposal company.

Order a container service

The city does not provide a container for bulky waste collection! You can hire private companies to clear out your household. If you want a container, you must apply for a special permit from the Roads and Civil Engineering Office to set it up in a public space. You can find addresses online and call the waste information telephone number 0351-4889633 during office hours or send an email to abfallberatung@dresden.de. You can agree the price for collection and disposal directly with the company. It is therefore always worth comparing prices!

No rip-offs – dispose of bulky waste properly

There are currently increasing reports from Dresden residents about dubious bulky waste disposal companies. The drivers sometimes pretend to be employees of Dresden's municipal cleaning service. Customers make an appointment for bulky waste disposal and then have to pay a large sum of cash on site. However, the municipal cleaning service or other disposal companies commissioned by the state capital generally do not require cash on site for the collection of additional fee-based services.

Correct: There is a fee for the transport, which is not to be paid in cash but only after receipt of the fee notice. Collection from the apartment or basement is an additional service that the waste disposal company offers and bills accordingly.
