Using mobile injection-moulding technology to create new moulds in manufacturing

Challenging conventional construction methods and rethinking process technology is the motto of Anybrid, a Dresden-based spin-off of the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) run by the TU Dresden. The company works to develop mobile injection-moulding systems that can be fitted to classic industrial robots and moved around freely. The technology known as ROBIN (Robotised Injection Moulding) can be perfectly integrated into continuous production lines, and could offer manufacturing companies a wide range of innovative options for avoiding the restrictions currently associated with designing plastic profiles. The technology has the potential to eclipse conventional processing methods in one fell swoop. Together with the TU Dresden’s ILK, Anybrid received the 2021 JEC Composites Connect Innovation Award for its unique injection technology.
