Elbe Ferries

The Elbe ferries are without doubt one of the most romantic means of transport in Dresden. Whatever the weather, they glide smoothly across the waves and offer passengers a short and convenient way to cross the river.

The Dresden transport corporation DVB operates three passenger ferries and one special ferry for motor vehicles within the boundaries of the city. The latter, which is often referred to as "Palace Ferry", runs between Pillnitz and Kleinzschachwitz. The two motor-run ferries among the passenger ferries connect Tolkewitz and Niederpoyritz as well as Johannstadt and Neustadt.
